A new home for Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust
Community Ventures have helped find a new home for Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH).
The Trust is currently based at Stockdale House in Headingley, Leeds but, as the landlord plans to convert the building to residencies when the leases terminate in October 2023, a relocation is necessary.
Community Ventures (CVM) have been supporting this project since April 2020, initially delivering the Strategic Outline Business Case in June 2021. The Outline Business Case, which recommended Building 3 at White Rose Park in Leeds, as the preferred option, was then approved in August 2022.
This new staff hub will create a collaborative opportunity to welcome LCH’s partners, the Leeds office of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and the Leeds GP Confederation, as sub tenants and these new facilities will provide much needed office spaces and meeting rooms to support hybrid working and new ways of operating going forward.
The Full Business Case has been developed to reinforce this option, with great support and guidance provided by Anna Matta and Issy Whitelock from sister company, consultants Shared Agenda. It was a challenging task to reach approval and achieve lease and sub lease completion in time to start the fit out works, as the deadline for full occupation is August.
Although these milestones were demanding, the team made it, and the Full Business Case was approved on 26th April. Subsequently, a Letter of Intent was issued to the successful fit-out contractors, Stirling Grey, on Friday 28th April as intended, after a hectic day of arranging signatures! It was very gratifying that the Trust’s Business Committee praised the quality of the Full Business Case that was completed.
Bryan Machin, Deputy Chief Executive and SRO for the relocation of LCH said:
“The team at CVM, led by Emma have worked extraordinarily hard to get LCH and its partners to this stage. But it’s not just the hard work; it’s the way the CVM team and the project support team they put together have worked with us and our partners that is particularly impressive. We have been one team, with a shared agenda of delivering excellent new facilities for the NHS in Leeds that will facilitate collaboration.”
Also involved in the work are GenNorth, who are programme managing the move and providing support on the IT transition. Helen Nicol, Workplace Consultant said:
“It has been an absolute pleasure working with the team at Community Ventures Leeds once again. As part of their core supply chain, GenNorth have provided supporting roles as Lead Workplace Consultant, IT Consultant, Programme Manager and Client Representative, to ensure that the relocation of LCH’s Staff Hub from Stockdale House to White Rose Office Park was a great experience for all of the teams involved.”
Building 3 is owned by Munroe K, and their CEO David Aspin commented:
“We are delighted to be welcoming Leeds Community Healthcare Trust to the White Rose Park in our newly refurbished Building 3. A building that we are extremely proud to have upgraded to achieve an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of A, the highest available. It has been a pleasure to work with Emma and the team to make this relocation happen and we are excited for them to join our White Rose Park community, and experience the wide range of activities and amenities we have here, including the new White Rose Railway Station which opens later this year.
This exciting project has not only allowed us to build new relationships with the staff from Leeds Community Health Trust, but has also seen us working seamlessly with many of the CVM Staff who support LCH on a daily basis, deepening our understanding of the wide range of services they provide.”
Emma Bolton, Area Director at Community Ventures commented:
“I am privileged and quite humbled to be part of such a special team, everyone really pulled together to do their bit in order to ensure that everything happened really quickly to ensure that we began the works programme on time “.
